Pav Bhaji

PAV BHAJI

Pav Bhaji is one of the most popular dishes in Mumbai. It tastes delicious and is very simple to make. It is a quick meal that can be grabbed on the go. Large quantity of bhaji can be made in advance and just reheated before serving with a toasted PAV!!

INGREDIENTS:
  1. Potato
  2. Carrot
  3. Green Beans
  4. Red Capsicum
  5. Yellow Capsicum
  6. Cauliflower
  7. Peas
  8. Spinach
  9. Tomato
  10. Onion
  11. Green chilly
  12. Ginger
  13. Lemon
  14. Butter
  15. Cooking oil
  16. Pav Bread
  17. Coriander Leaves
  18. Spices (Salt, Turmeric powder, Coriander powder, Chilli powder, Dry Mango powder, Pav Bhaji Masala)
METHOD:
  • Chop all the veggies (from ingredient no 1 to 8) and boil them in the cooker. 
Chopped Veggies
  • Chop tomato, ginger and green chillies. Grind them in a mixer to make a puree.
  • Take a pot and add some cooking oil in it. Once heated, add the puree to it and let it cook for some time. As oil starts separating from the cooked puree as shown then add all the boiled vegetables to it. (Make sure you mash the boiled vegetables)
Cooked Tomato Puree
  • Add all the spices as mentioned in the pot as per your taste and stir well. Close the lid of pot and let it cook for some time. Once cooked, sprinkle another round of Pav Bhaji masala and garnish some coriander leaves over it. The "bhaji" is ready to eat.
Cooked Bhaji
  • Heat a tava and some butter over it. Slit the pavs vertically open and place it on tava. Cook on both sides so that they become crisp. Add more butter if required.
  • Pav Bhaji is ready to eat. Serve it with lemon, green chilly and chopped onions.
